Norwich & District Archives

The Norwich and District Archives was established in 1977 under the direction of the Archives Committee of the Norwich and District Historical Society. In 1978 the Society purchased the former North Norwich Township office to become the permanent location for the Archives. Some of the early collections acquired by the Archives were the writings of Amelia Poldon, an early local historian, the photographs of Carson Bushell, a well-known Norwich photographer, and the historical research of Stella Mott, a descendant of the early Quaker pioneers.

The Archives acquires and preserves records created by, for, and about Oxford County, particularly the southern half of the County. The Reading Room, staffed by volunteers, is open to the public for genealogical and local historical research.
